Upon arriving home tonight, I changed and then went back outside to sweep the floor of the garage. This Saturday we will be hosting our annual Halloween Weenie Roast and Hayrack Ride.
Usually, we spend all of Saturday preparing the garage for the party, but this year, there is a sale on Saturday that we both (especially me) want to go to. It’s an estate sale in Rochelle, IL (about forty minutes away), and it features among many other things, nearly 5,000 records for sale. That’s too many for me to skip.
So, I swept the floor tonight, and Jodi used the shop vac to clean up cobwebs, dust and bugs. Tomorrow, we’ll probably setup the tables, and maybe do a little more cleaning.
After the work, we warmed up some spaghetti and broccoli. I put Dean Martin on the turntable.
“It makes it feel a little more like an Italian restaurant with Dino singing,” I said as we started to eat.
We talked about other things we need to get ready, and Jodi brainstormed what she might make for the party.
After that, we cleaned the dishes, and then sat on the porch for a while with our dog and cat.
